Achievement Control

Raids, PvP, machinima, and magic with a touch of color.

Episode 2

Ever wanted to learn the secret about how top-end raiding guilds are so successful? It isn’t a magic item that one shots bosses, and it definitely wasn’t special catering from blizzard. Among many a resource page when it comes to boss encounters it is safe to say that StratFu was probably one of them. In today’s episode I had the chance to chat with Kyth who is the creator of the site. What is StratFu you ask? Well if the name didn’t give it away- it is a website where you can find hundreds of boss strategies; text and video alike. From class guides to Ulduar, and even achievements there is almost something there for everyone. Most of the articles are written by Kyth, but she often gets the help of her friends also. The articles themselves aren’t only informative, but t hey are as entertaining as the people behind the words.

I also learned a bit about Fusion; a top world PvE guild. They are actively working on the PTR due to lack of real content on live, and have to resort to creating their own (such as 20 man Sartharion+3 Drakes). They have also gotten a lot of credit for their speed runs through raid dungeons such as Naxxramas, and have cleared the entire place in under an hour and 30 minuets. However, they take a different approach on their PTR experience, and instead of forming their focus on downing bosses they are more determined to seek out bugs and glitches to give back proper feed back. They also have very entertaining forum sections that I recommend viewing!

Be Herd!

Firstly, I thought  I would give a big thank you for everyone who participated in my very first episode. It has gotten over a thousand views and I am really psyched and appreciative!

Want to give a shout-out to your favorite guest to be played on the show? It’s simple really! All you have to do is record a clip of yourself saying something appropriate to or about your favorite guest, and I will play it on the show. However, there are some requirements.

1) Please make it in an mp3 format.

2) Have it no longer than 20 seconds.

3)Please don’t have music playing in the background.

4) Keep profanity at a minimum if at all.

5) Make your choice of words appropriate; I will not play “bashing” messages.

6) Have fun with it!

There are a lot of audio recording software out there; I use Audacity to do all of my editing along with other Adobe programs. Audacity however, is free and fairly easy to use.

Want to contribute to the show in another unique way? I’m currently taking suggestions!

Episode 1

After watching this video I simply had two things to say “I suppose hip-hop music isn’t so bad” and “Wow!” but mainly the second. Having been an avid watcher of the Nyhm saga for the past few years I was quite sad to see him go. Like the tens of thousands of people who have subscribed to his YouTube channel it appeared to be the end, but even though he decided to take a bow and receive a standing ovation he introduced us to his friends, and I had the honor of having a chat with them all!
She refers to herself in the video to have “PvP Gurl”, but she is most commonly known as Gigi the Blood Elf Huntress. Although her character is slim in size she packs a punch and a ferocious bite from her cat Frostbite. Her nickname and website http://www.pvpgurl.com she inherited from her guild mates because “she refused to do anything but BG”, but she also did a song about it as well! Wildly growing popular on YouTube she has over twenty videos; each with her own personal flares (the spark ones included).

Next we have Druid Boyz Demineon and Abandonation who play the controversial Tauren Druid and Blood Elf rogue; known for the parody “Crank Dat Druid Boy” which has over one million views. They have thousands of subscribers on their YouTube page. Together their music has a heavy hip-hop and rap style with strong urban beats and rhythms that are inspired by music they enjoyed and WoW. After chatting with them however, they are quite the comedians and were constantly liable for stifled laughs and snickers throughout the interview from the rest of the group. Dexterous voice impersonations included.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Decision who is a rapper who is new to machinima. He has been rapping for about seven years, and sounds just like Eminem himself. He might just give the rest of the guys a run for their money. In his first video “Ninja Looter” he claimed to have a heavy PvP influence and is rocking the holy paladin. Not only can he rhyme like a pro, but he has the lyrics to complement. I foresee big things coming for this blood elf. (I’m trying to minimize the male blood elf puns; so I’ll leave it at that)

We also had a European in the bunch, and yes ladies he has an accent! We call him Red and he is the official machinimer for the group. He came from Holland, and even won the European machinima contest for “Rogues do it from behind.” He simply started as a fan, but when he heard the news (twenty minuets prior to recording) he was STOCKED, and we could hear it in his voice.

Although he did not do any of the work for the “Pwnage like us” video; I have to give major props to Quix0tica who unfortunately could not appear on the show. She was responsible for the majority of the video work that was incredibly done. Her hard work paid off!

I don’t want to give the best part of the show away, because you will all just have to listen. , but the five of them have a special announcement that they would like to make known!Although, they don’t quite know what to call it.

Statics, because we love crunching numbers!
The mp3 of “Pwnage Like Us” was downloaded 862 times after a week of release.
